He is noted for his warmth and unequivocal optimism. I enjoy how it tells the story of Hazel but inside that is the story of Hazel and Augustus. I would most definitely recommend this book to another person.
I feel that everyone wants their very own Augustus Waters because he seems almost too perfect. However, Van Houten attends Gus's funeral in America and attempts to apologize to Hazel, whereupon she realizes that he had a young daughter who died of leukemia.
